Gary Van Heukelom

Rev. Gary Van Heukelom is a retired pastor who has been married to his wife, Ruth, for over 50 years. He has three sons: Jon, Joel, and Paul and 7 grandchildren. 

Before becoming members of New Life in 2022, Gary served as the Pastor of Grace Reformed Church in Corsica, SD from 1984-1990, the Pastor of First Reformed Church in Sibley, IA from 1990-2012, and a Chaplain at Highland Ridge Senior Living Community in Williamsburg, IA) from 2012-2021. Gary has blessed this congregation on numerous occasions, frequently guest preaching, administering the sacraments of both baptism and the Lord’s Supper for a number of years, teaching Sunday School classes and storytelling each year at New Life’s Summer Camp.

New Life recongizes Gary's pastoral gift, leadership, and experience and has bestowed the title of Pastor Emeritus on him, an honorific title which carries with it the responsibilities to continue to live in his ordination vows, constantly abiding in the Word of God, and setting an example to the whole body of Christ.
