Jenna Smith

Jenna is the current general music and choir teacher at Heritage Christian School in North Liberty. Jenna majored in music education at Olivet Nazarene University and has been teaching music in schools since 2019. 

Jenna is married to Austin Smith who is a nurse at the University of Iowa hospital. They have 2 young boys Emery and Everson. Austin and Jenna met in high school at Clear Creek Amana. They married in 2019 and lived in North Carolina while Austin was stationed with the Marine Corps. Austin served 8 years in the Marine Corps when they decided to relocate back to Iowa to be close to family. 

Jenna grew up as a child of a pastor and accepted Christ at a young age. She has had a passion for church music ministry since High School where she led worship for her youth group. In college, she was hired as the worship director at a local church in Bourbonnais, IL where she served for 2 years. 

She is excited to join the New Life church family and is grateful for a church where she and Austin can raise their family. Her vision for New Life is that believers can come together every week and worship Christ no matter what season of life they may be going through, because of the joy that comes from the hope of the Lord.
